Volunteer management professionals are some of the most resilient, innovative, resourceful, and compassionate people I know. This has never been truer than over the past 8 months.  Playing many roles in organizations of all sizes and mandates, those who lead volunteer engagement serve as coaches and mentors, teachers and facilitators, convenors and collaborators, researchers and reporters, to name a few. With a focus on serving communities and achieving their missions, volunteer managers also attend to the needs and aspirations of volunteers of all ages and life circumstances.

Today, as we celebrate International Volunteer Managers Day (IVMD), we also recognize the associations of volunteer resource professionals, including local networks and councils, provincial and territorial associations of volunteer administration, and our amazing colleagues at Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada.
